Getting My Work Published

Aswell as entering all the competitions I can, one of the points I would like to address is getting my work published in magazines, papers, online etc.

I know to do this, I will definitely need to work harder on producing more complete bodies of work, something that needs to be addressed pronto. I feel that I don't have enough work to even build a complete portfolio (something I'll come to later), which isn't good for a third year university student who's about to be dumped in the big wide world of this business!

I know what avenues I want to head down in my career, what work I'd like to cover, but for now it's upto me to start creating work that I can use to propel me into these routes. I think I need to take a step back to decide where I would like to see my work published, and then make it happen, contacting the right people at the right companies with the right work!

The three different aspects of photography I would like to attack would be:

  • Documentary:

  • Street Photography:

  • Conceptual/Portraiture:

All these examples of work all have obvious different places that they would sit, it's now down to me to start putting them in their places and making a name for myself.
